Izakaya Festa

Art direction, digital design, editorial design + brand design
Role: Art director, Lead designer

Agency: Kemosabe

Lead designer for an immersive Japanese food and drink experience. Ensuring the brand lives and breathes across physical and digital touchpoints, work included user experience and event layout.

The art direction is an homage to sun-bleached 1960s Japanese bar ephemera and late hazy nights. Distorted imagery surprises with pop art twists, curious retro adverts, and warped vintage photography. The logo form draws from exterior Japanese signage and storefronts and by layering the shapes and rotating the characters, suggests an almost hypnotic feeling of captivation.

Due to unavoidable circumstances, the festival has been delayed.
